PHYS 101 - Introduction to Physical Science I (3 credits) (Prereq: A grade of ‘C’ or better in six credit hours in mathematics or statistics, or permission of the instructor) (Coreq: PHYS 101L ) The course teaches physical principles as they relate to the societal use of energy. The following energy technologies with their associated pollution problems are examined: fossil fuels, heat engines, hydroelectric power, nuclear power, solar power, energy conservation, and small scale energy systems.
