HIST 495 Q Internship in History - 3 to 12 credits Prerequisite(s): permission of the adviser and department chair required This course is open to history majors with a minimum 2.50 GPA and who have completed at least 30 credit hours at the time of enrollment. Off-campus internships may include additional requirements, including a minimum 3.00 GPA and completion of at least 12 credit hours of history. The internship requires 40 hours of employment per credit hour, a reflective journal, and a research report. The purpose of the internship is to provide students with practical training and experience in history-related work and to introduce them to local, regional and national employers in fields of applied history. The course may be repeated under different topics for up to 12 credit hours. Six credit hours of this course may be applied to upper-level history major requirements.
