MATH 407 Coding Theory - 3 credits

Prerequisite(s): A grade of ‘C’ or better in MATH 344 or permission of the instructor
This course covers the issues involved in designing efficient codes, including error detection/correction. Topics to be covered include distance, nearest neighbor decoding, hamming codes and linear codes. Other topics which may be covered are Golay codes, Reed-Muller codes, cyclic codes, and spherical codes.
