ARTH 211 Q* Roman Art and Architecture - 3 credits

This course surveys the art and architecture of ancient Rome and its provinces, from the founding of the Roman Republic to the end of the Roman Empire. Some topics covered include the function of art and architecture in ancient Rome, the relationship of Greek and Roman art, imperial portraiture, games and spectacles, and the houses of Pompeii.
