PUBH 440 Gender, Culture, Literacy and Disparities in Health - 3 credits


Prerequisite(s): PUBH 121 
This course explores the roots of health disparities among marginalized populations. It analyzes how socio-cultural determinants of health including gender, race/ethnicity, disability, religion, seniority, economics and institutional factors compound health inequities. It examines multi-level interventions steeped in health literacy, health promotion, social justice, and cultural communication to achieve health equity and promote population health.
