EDUC 409 Curriculum and Instruction for Gifted and Talented Students - 3 credits Prerequisite(s): EDUC 215 and Teacher Education Majors An in-depth study of poverty and inequality in the United States, its history and issues related to life in poverty; how poverty affects students across the nation; the potential impacts on their academic attainment; and adverse effects on students lifelong career pathways and opportunities. The course explores the historical, societal, economic, racial/cultural, and governmental factors related to poverty and the impact on a students’ attainment of academic success.
