ANTH 346 Historical Archaeology - 3 credits

Historical archaeology is the archaeological study of colonial expansion and subsequent post-Columbian peoples, or, more broadly defined, it is the archaeological study of people for whom textual evidence is available. This course introduces students to historical archaeology through a sample of research from around the world (but with an emphasis on sites in the New World). Students are also exposed to the major theoretical orientations and methods of historical archaeology.
Semester(s) Offered: Fall, Spring, Summer
