HIST 456 Genocide in Comparative Perspective - 3 credits A study of genocide as a global phenomenon in comparative perspective. Students examine some of the theoretical and definitional issues that genocide poses and explore case studies chosen by the instructor. In this course, students make historical connections across cultures and understand genocidal violence as a particularly vicious form of state policy and as a human, personal experience of terror and survival.
