CSCI 514 - Introduction to Web Engineering - 3 credits

Prerequisite(s): Admission to the Graduate Certificate in Applied Computing and Information Systems program and approval of instructor
Course covers topics necessary for the development of database-driven information systems on the Internet. Topics and technologies covered include XHTML, Cascading Style Sheets, Java Script, PHP, theory and design of relational database management systems, and web systems administration. Other topics to be covered include content development using Nielsen’s Scannable Text model, elements of Search Engine Optimization and social media marketing.
