EDUC 608 - The Nature and Needs of Gifted and Talented Students


(3 credits) (Prereq: Admission to Graduate Study) Course designed to provide teachers with a foundation in gifted education as a survey course in the education of gifted and talented students. Included is an overview of the historical and philosophical background of gifted education, as well as a rationale for it. The course focuses on the characteristics, needs, problems, and developmental patterns of gifted and talented students, including special populations of gifted and talented students and methods of talent development.
