MATH 220 - Mathematical Proofs and Problem Solving (3 credits) (Prereq: A grade of ‘C’ or better in MATH 160 ) (Coreq: MATH 161 ) Detailed investigation of the methods of mathematical proof: direct, indirect, induction, contradiction, case analysis and counter examples. Topics include set theory, functions, relations, cardinality, elements of number theory, elements of real analysis and elements of abstract algebra.
