SOC 306 - Religious Cults and Violence (3 credits)

(Prereq: SOC 101 or SOC 102) An introduction to sociological perspectives related to various aspects of new religious movements or cults. Students will use sociological theories and perspectives to examine religious cults’ use of violence and violent reactions toward cults by government authorities, other religious organizations, and anti-cult movements.
