  • Four additional semesters of ensemble participation are required, for a total of eight semesters. (All ensembles are one credit hour courses.)

Specialized Block (11-14 Credits)

Complete the following:

Instrumental Studies or Vocal Studies (Choose one)

Instrumental Studies (9-12 Credits)

Complete the following:

Wind, Brass, Percussion Studies only

Complete the following:

Guitar or Bass Studies only

Choose one from the following:

  • MUS 339 -I Applied Instrumental Literature and Pedagogy (Guitar)
  • MUS 339 -J Applied Instrumental Literature and Pedagogy (Bass)
Vocal Studies (12 Credits)

Electives (0-1 Credits)

Total Credits Required: 120 Credits

  • A diagnostic and advisory review of the student’s work will be conducted at the end of the sophomore year. This review will examine proficiencies in written and aural theory, keyboard skills, applied music and will determine the student’s eligibility for upper level (junior-senior) courses.
  • A grade of ‘C’ or better is required in all music foundation, music requirement, and cognate/minor courses in order to be applied toward the major.
