Program Requirements (18-23 Credits)
The Spanish minor is designed for students who want to study the Spanish language and culture of Spanish-speaking countries to be able to communicate using the second most commonly spoken language in the United States and be more competitive in the fields of law, medicine, social services, education, commerce, government, etc. With more than four hundred million native speakers in twenty-one countries the Spanish language is of great significance in international relations.
Students can combine a minor in Spanish with a major in many fields to increase their competitive edge in the professional environment.
The Spanish minor is intended to provide proficiency in written and spoken Spanish as well as broad understanding of Hispanic culture and society. An elective for the minor may be met through study abroad.
The Spanish minor at Coastal Carolina University requires a minimum of 18 credit hours above the 115 level. The following courses are required:
