EDAD 740 - Governance and Organization of Higher Education (3 credits)


(Prereq: Student must be admitted into the Doctor of Philosophy in Education program or by permission of the instructor)  The purpose of this course is to provide a comprehensive examination of the governance and organization of institutions of higher education in the United States so that educational leaders may better manage, navigate, and strengthen institutions of higher learning. Topics addressed include characteristics and best practices of successful institutions of higher education, related theories, functions of the Board of Trustees, policy development and implementation, stakeholders, stakeholder collaboration, and outcomes/sustainability.
