EDEC 314 - Language and Emergent Literacy (3 credits)

(Prereq: EDEC 332, EDEC 339, and EDEC 340) This course will prepare candidates to understand language and literacy acquisition, the interrelationship of literacy and language, and instructional strategies and resources necessary for teaching beginning readers and writers, with main focus on children from birth through grade three.
