MKTG 450 Advertising - 3 credits


Prerequisite(s): A grade of ‘C’ or better in CBAD 350 , COMM 101 , JOUR 201 , PUBH 350 , ARTD 201  or BSHA 305 
This course provides a basic introduction to the planning and execution of advertising and promotion in the context of marketing goals and objectives. It offers a clear and comprehensive examination of the roles that marketing practitioners play from three perspectives including: 1) from a firm’s marketing/advertising/ public relations department; 2) the firm’s advertising agency of record, and 3) from the perspective of the media executives who provide the bridge from the company’s products to its target audience via its selling propositions. It combines information from marketing communications, psychology, sociology, anthropology, and other social science research as it relates to the practice of advertising.
