ANTH 398 Q Archaeological Field Research - 3 to 6 credits This course introduces students to archaeological field methods. Students learn techniques of archaeological excavation, mapping, and survey. Excavations are likely to recover evidence of historic and prehistoric habitation, including tools, pottery, food remains, and hearths. Artifact processing includes washing, labeling, identifying, and analyzing archaeological materials. Assignments for this class may include textbook readings, a final paper and a field journal. This course may be repeated for up to six total credit hours. Semester(s) Offered: Summer
