MATH 220 Mathematical Proofs and Problem Solving - 3 credits Prerequisite(s): A grade of ‘C’ or better in MATH 160 or MATH 160B Corequisite(s): MATH 161 or MATH 161B Detailed investigation of the methods of mathematical proof: direct, indirect, induction, contradiction, case analysis and counter examples. Topics include set theory, functions, relations, cardinality, elements of number theory, elements of real analysis and elements of abstract algebra.
