MSCI 305 Marine Chemistry - 3 credits

Prerequisite(s): MATH 131 or above and a grade of ‘C’ or better in MSCI 111/MSCI 111L, MSCI 112/MSCI 112L and CHEM 112

An introduction to the chemistry of seawater, marine organisms and sediments. The impact of humans on the biogeochemistry of the ocean is emphasized. Laboratories involve the collection and chemical analysis of sea water. Techniques of solving word problems are developed during recitation.
