The Department of Public Health focuses on evidence-based best practices for disease prevention, health management, health promotion, patient safety and quality care. Through the department’s rich history of community collaborations and diverse faculty research interests, students have the opportunity to participate in experiential activities locally, nationally, and internationally. 

The department offers Bachelor of Science degrees in health administration (completion program with certificate and/or licensure or without certificate and/or licensure), and public health. In addition, the Department offers teachers in South Carolina, the ability to add a health certification add-on to their existing teaching certification.
