Spanish for Health Professions Minor

The 18-credit-hour Spanish for Health Professions Minor allows students interested in pursuing careers in the health professions, including public health, medicine, nursing, and other areas, to obtain language proficiency and critical cultural awareness that will assist them in serving the needs of Spanish-speaking patients and clients. Students complete required courses in Spanish language and Hispanic/Latinx culture as well as in public health, and elective courses in multiple disciplines. Students are also encouraged to complete an internship as part of this minor.
Credit Sharing Limitations
Public Health majors are allowed to credit share one course in Group 2 Electives with the Spanish for Health Professions minor. Communications majors are allowed to credit share up to six credit hours with the Spanish for Health Professions minor.
