Psychology: Mental Health Concentration

Degree Requirements (120 Credits)


Students must earn a grade of ‘C’ or better in each course used to satisfy major requirements, cognate requirements, and minor requirements.

Students must earn grades of ‘C’ or better in PSYC 101 , PSYC 225 /PSYC 225L , and PSYC 226 /PSYC 226L  because these courses are required for the major.

Major Requirements (31-32 Credits)


Psychology Electives


Mental Health Concentration


Students are required to take one course from the Clinical group and Principles of Psychological Testing + Principles of Psychological Testing Lab, along with one course related to their specific interest in the mental health field. The remaining 6 credits must be selected from the options listed below. PSYC 410, PSYC 411, PSYC 428, PSYC 440, and PSYC 445 may not be used to satisfy the clinical group major requirement or electives requirement.  PSYC 483/PSYC 483L may be used to satisfy the quantitative requirement for the Psychology major.  PSYC 303, PSYC 333, and PSYC 465 may also be used to satisfy the psychology major requirement or electives requirement. PSYC 490 used for the special interest area of the Mental Health Concentration cannot be used to satisfy the Psychology major Capstone requirement.
