COMM 345 Communication Activism - 3 credits Explores the role of communication in advocacy and social movements. Topics may include strategic communication and activism, news coverage of protests and activists, attracting suppo1ters, disruptive or illegal protest tactics, public opinion, and successful messaging tactics. Students learn to identify, analyze, and critique communication strategies used in activism; examine media coverage of social movements; and question how communication facilitates or hinders social change.
