ECON 320 Environmental Economics - 3 credits Prerequisite(s): A grade of ‘C’ or better in ECON 201 Q* and ECON 202 , or a grade of ‘C’ or better in ECON 101 or permission of the instructor This course studies how economic activities affect the environment, why we allow more environmental harm than is optimal and how such environmentally harmful activities should be regulated. The course discusses important environmental issues such as environmental policy, environmental valuation, global warming, public goods, environmental degradation, energy, global agreements, and economic development.
