ECON 375 Economics and National Security - 3 credits Prerequisite(s): A grade of ‘C’ or better in ECON 201 Q* and ECON 202 , or a grade of ‘C’ or better in ECON 101 This course will explore the relationship between economics and the new environment of heightened national security in the post-9/11 world. Emphasis will be given to how the global War on Terror (WOT) differs from past conflicts, economic attempts to diminish terrorism, intelligence gathering, economic sanctions, third-world debt relief, possible economic causes of terrorism, weapons of mass destruction (WMD) proliferation, and weapons procurement.
