MSCI 458 Q* Fisheries Science - 3 credits Prerequisite(s): MSCI 302 and MATH 160 or MATH 160B An introduction to the practices and techniques of fisheries science. Topics include analytical and empirical models, stock assessment, age and growth analysis, mortality, recruitment and yield, production and early life history, harvesting techniques, and the development of fishery management strategies that reflect the intersection of fish and population biology, conservation goals, and the socioeconomics of the fishing community and industry.
