PHYS 101 Introduction to Physical Science I - 3 credits Prerequisite(s): A grade of ‘C’ or better in six credit hours in mathematics or statistics, or permission of the instructor Corequisite(s): PHYS 101L The course teaches physical principles as they relate to the societal use of energy. The following energy technologies with their associated pollution problems are examined: fossil fuels, heat engines, hydroelectric power, nuclear power, solar power, energy conservation, and small scale energy systems.
