PHYS 420 Solid State Physics - 3 credits

Prerequisite(s): MATH 161 or MATH 161B, PHYS 214, and PHYS 212 or PHYS 213
A study of the fundamental properties of solids, especially semi-conductors and metals, such as structure, conductivity, and models of solids. Applications of quantum and statistical mechanics to the thermal and electrical properties of various types of solids are made.
