MUS 302 Anatomy of a Song - 3 credits

Prerequisite(s): MUS 116, MUS 118 or permission of instructor
Anatomy of a Song is designed to introduce and develop specific techniques to enhance song interpretation performance skills. Melody, harmony, rhythm, lyrics, and accompaniment are critically analyzed to build and refine musicianship. Specific focus is placed on songs in English. Art Songs in German, French, and Italian may be included. This course is repeatable without restriction, but song repertoire must change with each iteration of the course.
