MSCI 464 Marine Molecular Ecology - 3 credits Prerequisite(s): A grade of C or better in MSCI 302 and MSCI 302L or BIOL 350 and BIOL 350L Corequisite(s): MSCI 464L This course explores the application of phylogenetic and population genetics techniques to marine ecological and biological questions such as taxonomy and identification, species discovery, cryptogenic species origins, invasion pathways, population connectivity, and conservation through examination of case studies in the marine environment and hands on practice of these techniques using student-generated and published data sets.
