ENGR 225 Sustainable Concrete - 3 credits Prerequisite(s): ENGR 199 This course introduces the basic properties of hydraulic cement and mineral aggregates and their interactions in concrete. Concrete proportioning is demonstrated in this course, ideally by hands-on experiments. Standard practices and methodologies for quantifying the properties of concrete are discussed. The sustainability of concrete is discussed, with particular applications on life-cycle analysis, coastal resilience, and environmental and economic impacts. Semester(s) Offered: Offered as needed
