The minor in Social Media offers students essential analytical, critical, and production skills by combining both academic and practical aspects of engaging with social media platforms. Students combine curriculum in both social media studies – the critical analysis, history, and sociocultural study of social media – as well as content production and design. This 18-credit-hour minor complements and enhances any major involving digital communication, marketing/branding, entrepreneurship, storytelling, and/or public engagement.
Note: Up to 9 credit hours in the Social Media minor may count towards another minor program, major program, and/or Core requirements.
