MCES 497 Marine Coastal Environmental Science Senior Thesis  -  3 to 6 credits


Restriction(s): This course is restricted to MCES majors.  A contract must be approved by the instructor and the department chair by the time of registration.
Prerequisite(s): A grade of ‘B’ or better in both lecture and lab for two of these four lecture lab/pairs: MSCI 301 /MSCI 301L , MSCI 302 /MSCI 302L , MSCI 304 /MSCI 304L Q , or MSCI 305  /MSCI 305L , and MCES 422/MCES 422L or permission of the instructor.
Each student plans and executes an original research project with guidance and supervision of a marine science faculty member. Results are presented in written and oral form. Senior thesis is strongly suggested for students intending to purse graduate studies. No more than six credit hours of an independent study, internship, and/or directed undergraduate research and/or senor thesis may be used for major credit.
